A map of my interpretation of the Planet Nirn in 4E 201, Geopolitical version 2.5

Note that Elsweyr is split in two - The resistance and the Thalmor supporters. Also, southern Morrowind is under Argonian occupation and Vvardenfell is uninhabitable, destroyed by the Red Mountain

Inspired from the official lore and unofficial interpretations such as mods and fan-fiction.

The cartographer's name is my real name slightly changed to sound like that of an Imperial's, and has nothing to do with any lore characters.

DO YOU WANT TO HELP?
I would really need some help in populating more of the non-Tamrielic parts of the map. There is little to no information about those regions, and I don't really have much time to play TES anymore, so I can't find that information by myself. If you find any, especially in ESO (because I'm not playing it too much since I'm not into MMOs), please post it here, if it is solid and valid in the 4th era, I will add it to the map.

PERMISSION TO USE AND MODIFY:
- You are allowed to bring minor modifications to this map, such as highlights, arrows, additional text or colours, etc.
- You are allowed to redistribute this map anywhere you see fit, as long as the watermark remains intact and visible, and the proper credits are mentioned.

I seem to recall Elder Scrolls Online confirming the location of Sotha Sil City as being underneath Mournhold, though it is also possible that the city has been moved or no longer exists after the collapse of the Tribunal Temple.

I'm still not comfortable including it in the map, mostly because of the huge time difference between ESO and the 4E.

Also, I don't have the Clockwork City DLC (yet) so I don't know too much about it except for the wikis.
I'm really looking forward to get that DLC soon, after I finish the Morrowind chapter and the other DLCs that I already have. Maybe there'll be something that will change my mind, or if someone else tells me before I play it (tho please avoid major spoilers).

Oh... I was commenting because it seems to already be included in the map.

Also, sorry if I spoiled everything. *Awkward screeching noises*.

Hi. Yep, it was included but I just removed it in the last update. And, no worries. :D

Hi guys.

Just made an update to the map (see the changelog in the description).
Please suggest any more changes that you'd like to see, and I'll consider adding them to the TODO list (also in the description).

I will also upload a new variant of this map that is purely geographical, with no names or location dots anywhere on the map.
I'll also update the political variant probably at around the same time.

A few notable changes:

1: Aldmeris
I decided to remove the continet of Aldmeris - the reasoning is simple, and is based on either of the following points:
- a. The continent never existed, it is just in the minds of the elves.
- b. The continent did in fact exist at some point, but was somehow lost (disappeared, sunk, destroyed, etc...), as there were countless expeditions and none managed to find it

Either way, considering that the map is made for the year 4E 201, the continent of Aldmeris does not exist at that time, hence its removal from the map.

2: Akavir
I completely recreated Akavir, and all the island nations between it and Tamriel. The reason is that when I made the map I was under the impression that Akavir is much larger than Tamriel. I then discovered that it is mentioned in the lore that Tamriel is the largest continent known on Nirn (the only larger one being Yokuda before its destruction).

Instead of making something completely new, I decided to use another fan-made version that already exists, the one from the Elder Kings mod for CK2. Why? Because that version is the most complete out there - with detailed geography, and cities spread around it.
While at it I also included the islands of Yneslea, Esroniet and Cathnoquey from the same mod, and for the same reasons - and because they fit very well with that version of Akavir that I was going to use anyway.

I also brought Atmora from the same mod - I was never satisfied with my version, and I chose the Elder Kings version because it is populated with cities, and is one that makes a lot of sense.

Initially I used the island of Roscrea from that same mod, but then I switched to the one from the upcoming mod for Skyrim called Beyond Skyrim: Roscrea - Voices from the Deep. I did it simply because that mod is going to come out one day, just like Bruma, and it is probably going to be very popular among TES players (unlike EK which is a mod for a strategy game), and thus it is probably going to be the de facto standard for how Roscrea looks like, even tho unofficial. It is also just better IMO, as they spent a lot of time designing it, and as a result it is very detailed and intriguing, with a very rich history.

3: Summerset Isles (Alinor)
I decided to update its shape based on the maps from Elder Scrolls Online.
Summerset differs in shape in pretty much all maps, even the official ones. The other provinces suffer the same problem, but here it is very pronounced.

I figured that the map from ESO is the most accurate, considering ESO is the latest game in the series, and that map is the latest one released by official sources.
It also brought new lore around some of the changes from the prvious shapes, which was canonised.

While at it I also added the new island south of Elsweyr, also from ESO.

I allways asket myself, are there realy no man living on akavir anymor? the lore says the where "eaten" or "devoured" by the Tsaesci. But we know almost nothing official abaut the man of akavir, my theory is that they where "devoured" by the Tsaesci but whit the meanint that the Tsaesci have tak over the kingdom of man in akavir and coexist now, where the Tsaesci are the roulers and the Akaviri are the secon class citysens, like the Dunmer in Windhelm.

Hello.
Yes, I have a pretty similar theory about it as well. I think they were either enslaved, or turned into vampires (IIRC vampirism was quite prevalent with the tsaesci)

You should add the isle of Aretaeum, where the Psijic Order resides.  TES klarix Summerset Artaeum Karte by mcsking2
Otherwise I think it is great. Wonderful work. I hope they make some game set in Akavir, even if it is a spin off.

Thanks, I will definietely include it in the next version. Can't say for sure when that will be, though.

UPDATE: Well, after a little digging I found out that the island disappeared twice from existance. The last time it disappeared was ~100 years before the events of TES 5 and hasn't been seen since. That means I cannot really include it on the map, since the map should reflect the latest known state of every land mass.

Wow, great to see this! I assume most of the places outside Tamriel are your interpretations?

I do have a few comments, but they're mostly on my own interpretation of lore.
-I'm rather partial to the idea that Aldmeris isn't actually a place, but the state of the elves being united.
-I kind of imagined Kamal being closer to Tamriel's eastern side, since the Ice Demons invaded Morrowind once.
-...Nirn's climate system is seriously screwed up. XD But then again it's not like our real-world climatology applies to a geocentric system where the sun is literally a hole in the edge of space that magic leaks through...

Anyway, it's great to see everything in some sort of context, even an unofficial one.

Yeah, I'm gonna remove Aldmeris from the map, because:
- a. It doesn't exist
- b. It did exist, but now it's "gone"

About Akavir: I'm thinking about making a new version of it from scratch. Your point about the Kamal makes a lot of sense, plus it's stated in a book in the lore that Tamriel is the biggest continent on Nirn... and on my map Akavir is much larger - I always assumed it would be bigger for some reason.

About the climate - it is. Both in my map but also in the lore.

Hello, I am sorry for replying so late, but I wasn't using deviantart all this time, so I didn't know. Yes, you can use it, if you still need it. I updated the description to let everyone know that they can use this map as long as I'm credited for my work.

Great, thanks! I wanted to make a globe of Nirn out of the map,and was really hoping that you'd say yes. Now I'm thinking since you have said yes that I will even make it a quest reward. No worries on the late reply, if you had not gotten back to me with an answer by the time the mod was finished I would have just left it out.

This is brilliant! I do have 2 concerns, thought.
1. I'm guessing red dots are capitals? In that case, shouldn't Solitude have one instead of Windhelm?
2. According to loading screens Orsinium is located in the mountains between Skyrim and Hammerfell, whereas on this map, it is shown in central High Rock.

It's not in the games. It's in the books inside the games and conversations from NPCs. For example, Akavir is supposedly said to be the birth place or something of the lines of that of dragons, and the Blades were originally Akavir, an extinct species of men that were eaten by the Tsaesci, a vampiric race of serpent like people.

Um, well I got rid of the RP idea a while ago, but I'll use this for a cover of a fanfiction. While I don't like publicly saying that I write fanfiction, since people don't realize that some fanfiction not only works, but is actually incredibly good depending on the series, I just wanted to let you know. I seriously don't understand why I write such useless things like that last sentence sometimes.

You forgot to label the biggest island in the Yokudan Archepelago (the remainder of the sunken continent)

Its called Akoz Kasaz I think? I cant remember the spelling... people often seem to mistake the island chain remainder for the continent itself.
